Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium funding was introduced by the Coalition Government in April 2011 to allow schools to offer additional support to looked after children, children from families in the armed services and those from low-income families.

Schools must use the extra funding to help narrow the attainment gap that exists between pupils from disadvantaged and more affluent backgrounds. Funding is based on children registered for a free school, service children and children in care.

Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit to best meet the needs of its children; however, we are required to publish online information about how we have used the Premium.
