School Vision

Our vision is that Windmill Hill will be an exceptional school where pupils, staff, parents / carers and governors work together to ensure that every child becomes happy, confident, inspired and enthusiastic, with the life skills necessary to become responsible citizens and to reach their full potential.

At Windmill Hill we aim to develop a love of learning through a creative, enriching and skills-based curriculum that provides a balance of academic and personal developments. Our curriculum meets the requirements of the National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 & 2 and follows the Early Years framework in EYFS. We have chosen to follow the National Curriculum because of the breadth of knowledge it provides yet we have developed it so that it meets the needs and interests of our children and is personal to us.

Be Ready.
Be Respectful
Be Kind &
Be Your Best!

Additionally, we have ensured our curriculum gives all children the opportunity to master skills across a whole range of subjects including the core subjects of English (Reading, Writing, Phonics, Spelling and Grammar), Mathematics and Science as well as the foundation subjects of History, Geography, Art, Design Technology, Modern Foreign Languages, Information Technology, Music and Personal Social and Health Education which will prepare them for life after primary school.

We aspire to the highest standards of teaching and learning from all our staff and pupils, so they are all able to follow our school motto “Learn together, grow together”.

We strive to develop all members of our school community in the values and qualities that allow everyone to follow our Golden Rules; Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Kind and Be Your Best. Our whole school ethos, curriculum and assemblies programme encourages this through the positive promotion and development of the Core Values of the school in order to become a successful Windmill Hill Learner and achieve our school vision.
